AI Save Deals is the record-keeping half of AI Save. The checking is done by a verification pipeline; this site is where the work is filed, in public, permanently. A deal is published only when its math has been checked — and once published, its record is never taken down.
What gets checked
Price history. We record prices for the products we track, every day, into our own price-history database. A deal's price is compared against the item's median recorded price. The comparison window is up to 90 days; while an item's record is younger than that, the median covers the recorded span so far — and every record page prints that span next to the figure, so a three-week record is never dressed up as a 90-day one. A "50% off" claim that is really 5% below the usual price scores like what it is.
List prices. The strikethrough "was" price is the most abused number in retail. We compare the claimed list price against the highest price the item has actually sold for in our recorded prices (up to the last 90 days); a claim more than 10% above that high is flagged as inflated and filed in the Fake Discount Watch. The threshold is deliberately generous to the retailer.
Liveness. Deals are re-checked on a schedule. When a deal dies, its record is stamped EXPIRED and stays in the archive — quietly deleting dead deals is how deal sites pretend they were never wrong.
The score. Every deal gets 0–100: up to 50 points for the true discount against the recorded median, 20 for price position against the recorded range, 15 for list-price honesty, 10 for how recently the deal was verified, and 5 for how much time is left on it. The full breakdown is printed on every record page.
How the store index is computed
Each store's flag rate is its flagged deals divided by its judged deals — deals whose list price could actually be checked (3+ price observations and a recorded high). A deal whose list price is not yet judgeable is excluded from the denominator. It is never counted as honest to make a store look better, and never counted as flagged to make one look worse. Median true discount is the median of the per-deal true discounts at that store. Thin coverage is labelled with its counts; the index does not hide thin data.
What we will not do
No paid placement changes a score, a flag, or an index figure. No coupon code is published unless it was issued through the affiliate program or by the brand itself. No price is shown for Amazon unless it is served by Amazon's own systems with a timestamp. And if a check cannot be completed, the deal does not publish — an empty shelf beats an unverified one.
